COURSEWORK DESCRIPTION

Write a short presentation to summarize and illustrate an article or report (or several related articles) about a sustainable development issue covered in this unit.

The articles must be taken from one or more of the following news sources:

The delivery of the presentation is limited to a maximum duration of 5 minutes.

Articles and other external sources must be cited and referenced using the Harvard APA format.

This coursework contributes 40% to the B101 unit mark.



COURSEWORK SUBMISSION

The coursework submission includes:
  1. Presentation document file.
    The only accepted file formats are Microsoft PowerPoint, Open Office Presentation or Adobe Acrobat.
  2. Video of the student delivering the presentation.
    The video must show the student standing to deliver the presentation.
    Videos must be uploaded to an external website, such as YouTube, Vimeo or similar services.
    The coursework must include a link to the external website hosting the video.

Students are required to submit their coursework online using the Mosaic website.

(1) Presentation content (35 marks)

0–13The presentation has minimal relevance to the coursework assignment.

(2) Presentation delivery (35 marks)

24–27The presentation was delivered in a compelling manner.

16–19The presentation was delivered in a comfortable manner.
14–15At a threshold level, the majority of the presentation could be heard and viewed.
0–13There were unacceptable difficulties with hearing and viewing the presentation.

(3) Writing mechanics (30 marks)
